Caregivers are essential members of our community, and too often their devoted care goes unnoticed. Caring for someone who depends on you can be constant, unyielding, and deeply demanding. It might mean managing medications and appointments, tending to the needs of small children all day, helping aging parents navigate a changing season, raising grandchildren, or caring for a spouse whose health requires more and more of your attention.
When care is constantly flowing out, a little break, a respite, isn’t a luxury; it is a necessity. At First Christian, one of our core values is helping all people thrive. That includes making space for those who spend so much of themselves caring for others.
So if you are feeling alone, overwhelmed, or isolated, we would love to offer some care to you. Come spend a couple of hours in a space meant to nourish you with good food, laughter, and conversation with people who understand some of what you carry. Caregivers Respite Lunch | Saturday, October 24, from noon to 2 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. For two hours, nobody will need anything from you.
If you’ve read this far wondering whether your situation qualifies, it does. Registration is open, and childcare is available when you register.
