Our partnership with Ida Freeman Elementary is about paying attention to what students and staff need, and finding meaningful ways to help.
Here are some easy ways to help students, teachers, and staff thrive. You can stock a classroom with snacks, encourage a student one-on-one, or lend a hand behind the scenes. Choose what fits your time and interests.
Fill the Snack Shelves
A hungry student has a much harder time focusing on reading, math, or anything else. We’re helping Ida Freeman keep individually packaged snacks on hand for students who need a little extra fuel during the school day.

Donations may be brought to First Christian Church and placed in the Ida Freeman Snack Drive collection area.
Become a Jaguar Pal
One caring adult who consistently shows up can make a big difference in the life of a child. Jaguar Pals are volunteers who spend a little time each week with one Ida Freeman student, offering encouragement, conversation, and a dependable relationship during the school year.
Orientation: Monday, August 31 at 2:45 PM
Weekly mentoring: Mondays, 2:30–3:15 PM, beginning September 14
Help with PAW PRIDE
If you’d rather serve behind the scenes, PAW PRIDE is a great way to support the people who spend every day caring for students.
Volunteers help teachers and staff with practical projects such as making copies, cutting and assembling materials, preparing classroom resources, and taking care of those small-but-important jobs that can lighten a teacher’s load.

There’s a Place for YOU
You don’t have to do everything to make a difference. Bring a box of snacks. Give an hour a week to a child. Spend an occasional afternoon helping a teacher get ready for the next day. Each is a small way we can put our love into action and help our neighbors at Ida Freeman thrive!
