Join us on Sunday mornings this summer for THRIVE: Conversations for the Common Good. This weekly forum with local leaders, parents, mental health professionals, and nonprofit partners will offer practical insights on how people are thriving today.
From backyard gardens to food security, aging well to raising resilient kids, you’ll hear inspiring perspectives that nurture both personal and community well-being.

June 8 - HALO PROJECT: Helping Foster Children & Families Thrive
Through trauma-informed care and connection, OKC's HALO Project is transforming the foster care experience! Hear from Program Coordinator Delaney Ernst, then take part in a service project to help bring hope and healing to kids.June 15 - PROJECT 66: Food & Resources to Thrive
Food security is a foundation for thriving. Project 66's executive director, Neil Tate will share how they are feeding body and soul with dignity. Followed by a service project to help get supplies ready for our Back to School Resource Fair.June 22 - RESTORE OKC: Thriving Neighborhoods
This asset-based community development organization works with neighbors to restore health, education, housing, and jobs. Restore OKC's Executive Diretor Caylee Dodson will share how a farm, grocery store, and grassroots movement are transforming Northeast OKC neighborhoods into areas that thrive!
June 29 - Edmond Family Counseling: Mental Health is Essential to Thrive Executive Director Sheila Stinnett shares how their work is supporting individuals and families through therapy, school partnerships, and new city-wide initiatives focused on youth mental health and care coordination. (this is a date change from printed THRIVE card)
July 6 - Marcus Long & Shelley Regan: Gardening to Thrive
Gardening can transform more than your yard. Marcus Long of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission introduces the Yard-by-Yard program, sharing how composting, pollinator gardens, and growing food care for the planet and connect us to creation. Shelley Regan shares how tending the earth nurtures your spirit, connecting you to the Creator.
July 13 - Rev. George Young: Thriving Through Conflict
Conflict is inevitable-what makes the difference is how we respond. Rev. Dr. George Young former state senator and pastor, shares practical strategies from a lifetime of mediating change in families, congregations, and public life.
July 20 - Anna (Regan) Palermo: Nature, Kids, and Thriving Families
Time outdoors nurtures resilience, curiosity, and deeper connection for kids and grownups. Inspired by the 1000 Hours Outside movement, therapist and mother Anna (Regan) Palermo shares some of the intentional rhythms and nature-based practices helping her family slow down, stay grounded, and truly thrive.
July 27 - Edmond Mobile Meals: Helping Seniors Thrive in Place
Edmond Mobile Meals delivers more than food, they deliver care and connection. Director Cristi Twenter and Edmond City Councilmember Maggie Murdock Nichols will share how meals and the teams that deliver them help seniors thrive in place.
August 3 - Puerto Rico Mission Exploration Team: Cindy Radford, John, Regan, and David Wheeler will share what they learned on their journey to Puerto Rico with Week of Compassion, exploring the potential for long-term mission partnerships. Discover how mutual relationships, not just relief, help communities thrive after disaster.
August 10 - Rev. Jim Randall: Thriving in the Third-Third of Life
What does it mean to age with grace, purpose, and joy? Rev. Jim Randall, Oklahoma AARP President will share inspiration and resources for thriving later in life, plus helpful tools for those walking alongside aging loved ones.
August 17 - Back-to-School Brunch & MOVE Up Sunday! Join us for colored pancakes and a preview of what’s coming this fall at First Christian!
