Enjoy the Parade with Us!

Every July 4, Edmond gathers along the LibertyFest Parade route for a morning of celebration, community, and small-town joy. Every year, First Christian Church gets to offer one of the simplest gifts we have: hospitality.

Our church sits in one of the best spots along the parade route. As a congregation rooted in this community, we've always been a place where strangers become neighbors, weary people find welcome, and love is shared in simple, tangible ways.

This year, as Edmond marks the Route 66 Centennial, that spirit feels right at home. For 100 years, the Mother Road became known not only for where it led, but for the kindness and hospitality people found along the way!

Every good road needs places of welcome and on July 4, we will once again offer breakfast burritos that highlight the work of Breakfast on Boulevard, ice-cold water, popsicles, restroom access, shade, and the return of our lemonade stand, which supports our community partner, the HOPE Center.

There are plenty of ways to help. You can serve behind the scenes, greet neighbors, hand out water and popsicles, make or serve lemonade, or stay afterward to clean up. You can even come early, claim a great parade-viewing spot, and help us get ready before the crowds arrive.

Route 66 was made legendary by small kindnesses: a cool place to rest, a cold drink, a sense that someone was glad you came. On July 4, we get to be that kind of place; one popsicle, one glass of lemonade, one warm welcome at a time!
