School is o-fish-ally back in session on August 14, and it’s the perfect time to dive in and become a Jaguar Pal. At Ida Freeman Elementary, the 2025–26 motto is: "We may all be different, but in this school, we all swim together." It's more than a theme—it’s a promise that every child will have the support they need to thrive.

Some students need more one-on-one time than their teacher can always provide. Maybe it’s extra reading practice, a confidence boost, or simply knowing a caring adult shows up just for them. Some teachers also need extra help as they navigate the daily demands of teaching.

That’s where Jaguar Pals come in—a faithful pod of reading buddies, mentors, and classroom helpers who ensure no student or teacher swims alone. As a Jaguar Pal, you'll make a fin-tastic impact as a steady presence in a child’s life or a lifesaver for a teacher balancing it all. You'll be assigned a role for at least one semester (ideally the full year). No teaching experience needed—just a kind heart and consistent presence.

Show up weekly: Mondays from 2:30–3:15 PM (or Tuesdays if school is closed)
To mentor a student, read together, offer encouragement, and help them feel seen
OR help a teacher with prep tasks like copying and cutting.
