A Year Worth Noticing

We are already moving quickly into a new year. Still, there is wisdom in slowing long enough to notice the one we just lived. In this Epiphany season, we pause to notice where love took shape among us in 2025 through open tables, spacious faith, and love in action.

In 2025, First Christian Church Edmond made space.

We made space for curiosity and honest questions.
We made space for relationships to deepen.
We made space for children, neighbors, and for helping people thrive.

Here are just a few glimpses of what that looked like.

We hosted five Welcome Tables, creating space for new people to discover who we are and what we value. Through those conversations, 51 people chose to join this community of faith.

In worship, we moved through 10 thoughtfully crafted series, naming both the aspirations and anxieties people carry. Together, we made room for longing, doubt, courage, and hope, trusting that God meets us in honest questions as much as certain answers.

During the summer, THRIVE: Conversations for the Common Good brought hopeful dialogue into a season that often feels scattered. Twelve gatherings invited us to consider what helps individuals and communities truly thrive.

We showed up in tangible ways to help children and neighbors thrive:

  • When SNAP benefits were disrupted, 237 bags of food were delivered to unhoused students across the Edmond Public Schools district.

  • Through school-year partnership with Ida Freeman Elementary, 9,338 meals were shared in ways that guarded dignity while easing food insecurity.

  • 957 books were shared with our young friends at Ida Freeman Elementary, sparking curiosity and joy for summer reading and again at Christmas.

  • At the Back to School Resource Fair, 778 students received backpacks and supplies, supported by 76 FCC volunteers and 20 community partners working together for the good of our city.

  • Through partnerships with the Homeless Alliance, four apartments were equipped with essentials like dishes, small appliances, sheets, towels, cleaning supplies and toiletries as neighbors moved from the street into homes of their own.

  • At Christmas, 299 unhoused students in Edmond Public Schools received gifts of warmth and joy

  • And 300 Christmas care packages were shared with homebound neighbors through Edmond Mobile Meals.

And every week, rain or shine, Breakfast on Boulevard offered hospitality and nourishment because all of life seems more difficult when you are hungry.

In 2025, that looked like:

  • 6,278 patrons served

  • 10,786 breakfasts shared for dine-in and to-go

  • 2,915 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

  • 4,277 meat and cheese sandwiches

  • 6,788 juice boxes

  • 5,369 water bottles

None of this happened because of a single program or plan. It happened because people showed up with curiosity, invested in relationships, and chose again and again to embody the love of Jesus in tangible ways.

As we step into a new year shaped by Epiphany’s call to see, we carry these stories with us as reminders. Reminders that love grows where attention is given and hope takes root where people show up.

A beautiful year is already unfolding among us. Thank you for being part of it all.
