“He has not punished us for all our sins, nor does he deal with us as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west” Psalm 103:10-12
God’s love for us is immeasurable and his grace is sufficient. In Psalm 103 it compares God’s love to the height of the heavens, a distance humans cannot even fathom. How wonderful is it that each and every one of us is loved that much! The same God that created the mountains, oceans, and the stars put you on this earth for a purpose and loves you even more! God even sent his son to earth to die for our sins, and because of this we are forgiven and in God we are made new. God’s mercies are new each and every day and nothing we can do or say could ever separate us from his perfect love. Some days we may not feel as if we deserve that grace, but as Psalm 103 states, God does not deal with us as we deserve and our rebellious acts are as far from us as the east is from the west. I cannot help but be joyful when I think about having a God who forgives me, loves me unconditionally, helps me carry my burdens, and sets me free. How blessed are we to have such a good father!
I challenge you this week to reflect in God’s great love and forgiveness, and love others as he has loved you.
