How May We Care for You?

We are here to accompany you on life's journey.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has taught us to care deeply about one another. Whatever stage of life you are in, the First Christian community cares for you and can provide support and guidance whether you are going through a difficult time, or celebrating a milestone event. We can all make a difference when we extend the love of Christ to lost and broken world!

Through First Christian’s congregational care ministries, personal connections are made and the love of Christ is shared. In addition to the methods of care described below, we are a praying church, and welcome the opportunity to pray for you and your loved ones. Our Wedding ministry celebrates with brides and grooms as they enter into covenant, and our parish nurses provide consultation and education.

Shut-in Communion

Elders and Deacons offer communion to elderly individuals and others confined to their homes, hospitals or care centers.  If you would like to make sure someone you care for receives communion, please contact our Pastoral Assistant.

New Mom Meals

We celebrate with families the new addition life, while understanding the stress placed on new parents. To help our new moms, members of the church prepare and deliver meals to your family, helping take one item off your to-do list! If you have recently delivered a baby and have not been contacted by someone to schedule delivery of a “new mom meal” let us know!

Hospitalization

There are times in almost everyone's life when a trip to the hospital occurs. Our staff of hospital callers, both ministers and elders, are poised to be supportive of your hospital stay in any way we can. Because hospital stays can be very brief these days, it is important to let our Pastoral Assistant know immediately if a loved one or friend is hospitalized.

When A Loved One Dies

First Christian Church offers support and assistance to individuals and families who have lost a loved one. Our ministers stand ready to assist you as you journey through this experience, providing caring assistance during your time of loss. The church is available for funerals and memorial services. We will work with you to honor your loved one and walk with you through this process. We can also provide a reception for the family, as a way to gather in the comfort of Christian community. Call the church, day or night at 405-341-3544. After business hours, listen to the staff options to obtain a number for the minister on call. You are also welcome to make your funeral wishes known to us ahead of time. Our Pastoral Assistant can assist you in making an appointment to meet with one of our ministers.
