First Christian Church has a wonderful tradition of making Summer a season of learning. We provide a forum with a variety of speakers and topics. Adults of all ages are welcome to attend! The presentations will be held at 10:00 am in our Chapel, beginning June 2 and concluding August 4. You'll find details about each week's speaker below. 

  • June 2 - Brad Lyons

  • June 16 - Elizabeth Ging

    Elizabeth Ging serves as the Early Childhood Instructional Facilitator for Edmond Public Schools. Elizabeth serves early childhood teachers in grades Pre-K through Second. She plans and presents professional development opportunities for teachers, as well as facilitates modeling, co-teaching, researching, and the sharing of best practices.Elizabeth presents on the topic of Conscious Discipline, a comprehensive classroom management program and a social-emotional curriculum.   Read More...

  • June 23 - Patricia Duncan

    Dr. Patricia Duncan, professor of New Testament and Greek at Texas Christian University, will be presenting at the Summer Sunday school hour on the Gospel of Mark.   • June 30 - Rev. Cara Gilger

    The Rev. Cara Gilger is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who’s 15 year ministry has spanned from congregational ministry, to small group and campus ministries focusing on spiritual formation and congregational connection.     It takes a village to raise a child, and fostering makes that village even more critical. Hear personal stories from those involved in foster care, meet the leaders of groups that provide resources and services, and get the opportunity to ask a panel of experts your questions.
