Caring Through Prayer
We are a praying church, and welcome the opportunity to pray for you and your loved ones. At one time or another, in one way or another, life weathers both our bodies and souls. Our hearts frequently ache from the pain and grief of the world. Our bodies reveal the scars of broken bones, bruises, and surgical procedures. Our spirits are anguished from the upheavals of life. At First Christian we find sanctuary, family, retreat, hope, and renewal.
Let us know how we can pray for You!
There are a variety of ways to share your prayer concerns with us. You may submit online, contact our Pastoral Assistant here or by phone (405) 341-3544, complete a Communication Card in worship, or share directly with one of our ministers. Depending upon your preference, your prayer request will remain confidential among ministers, be shared with elders, or placed in our newsletter so the entire church can pray for you.
Weekly Elders Prayer
Our Elders gather each Tuesday morning to pray for joys and concerns received on Sunday, through worship, email or phone. During “Elders Prayer Breakfast” ministers join with elders to pray for each need. Cards are written and sent to individuals so they know of the prayers offered on their behalf.
Prayer and Personal Reflection
Each Sunday morning our Healing Prayer Ministers offer a time for Prayer and Personal Reflection. Designed as a time and place for quiet repose, rest, and reflection; time to think, pray, and renew; Prayer and Personal Reflection is offered immediately after 8:15am worship in the Chapel until 9:50am. Come sit in silence, commune with God, reflect, meditate, pray, and restore; light a candle and take communion. You may talk with one of our Healing Prayer Ministers—in a holistic sense—and pray; pray for your needs and the needs of others. Would you like us to pray for you, or a loved one? Let us know
