“May my children be filled with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.” l Thessalonians 1:6
One of the things I loved most about Sunday School as a child was singing. One song that I always enjoyed singing was, “I have the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart—where? Down in my heart to stay.
Regardless of what kind of a week we had experienced, singing this song seemed to bring joy to our hearts. Looking back, I am so grateful for the many simple things that gave me joy; having a dog to play with and a pony to ride, building castles in a sand pile, swinging in a swing and walking along a creek with my cousins.
As an adult, I still feel joy in gazing at all of the wondrous beauty that God has created on this earth; the mountains, lakes, and even the prairies! All of these things in nature plus relatives and friends provide joy in my life. Being a part of a Church that provides us with brothers and sisters in Christ is one of the greatest sources of joy. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity and thank God for all of the joy he has provided me.
“Dear God, thank you for providing us with the greatest joy of all through your son, Jesus Christ”
